That the Parish of Burnside-Harewood be the outlooking and outreaching people of God,
ministering from a vibrant centre whose focus is Jesus Christ,
and whose enabler is the Holy Spirit.
We are pleased to be able to introduce some aspects of our parish life to you by means of this website. We hope it will help you to find your niche amongst us. But more than telling you what is available, we want to say: “A warm welcome to our Parish family.”
We like to use the word ‘family’ in relation to our local church and community of faith. For many of us, this parish identity has given us a sense of belonging and a place to be appreciated and supported. We believe that each person is as valuable as the other; children and grand- parents are as necessary for the growth and fulfillment of God’s family as are the young and middle-aged and up-front leaders. We are all equal in the sight of God.
Our parish comprises two church centres;
St. Timothy’s with its modern features and facilities
St. James’ a beautiful church set in rural surroundings alongside the church graveyard.
Our Sunday services aim to cater for the variety of worship styles.
Life can be tough at times and you may wish to talk things over with someone confidentially or receive some practical help. Members of our pastoral team are available to visit you to have a chat, and if appropriate, offer prayer or home communion and other support as you require.
You may wish to receive personal prayer for healing or other needs after a church service. In addition you may wish to request your needs for prayer be released to a group of people who specifically pray for them. Please see a member of the Prayer Team or clergy.
And so welcome on behalf of the Parish. We hope that you will find amongst us the love and support that we seek to share in the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, Friend and Brother.
