Nick

I’m Nick, a 6th year medical student currently studying at Canterbury. Most of you will know I am a fairly extroverted guy who wears his heart on his sleeve, and is pretty much up for anything, within or without reason.

I believe that the way of Jesus is the best way to live, and I embrace humbly the free gift of salvation he has freely given us.

I want to journey with Christ and you in redeeming and restoring this awesome creation which I’m sure you will all agree is at its core so, so good.

Part of my Journey is to go to Uganda with my girlfriend Tessa, to learn, be blessed and hopefully be just a little bit useful in whatever God is doing through the good people over there.

I thank Mum, Dad, sisters and my church family for their uncompromising support.

Tess

I have become a follower of Jesus through the love and thought of Christians at St Tims, and through God’s provision of such awesome things as mountains, keas and high country lakes! Over the past year my thinking about what it menas to be Christian has been challneged thanks to Rob (see links). I believe all people can partner with God and through Jesus work towards restoring our earth :) I think we ‘bring heaven to earth’ whenever we pray, recycle, or give foreigners with bleeding noses water and tissues. (That happened to me yesterday, Thai people are awesome!)

A few more Tessa-details:

I study International politics at Canterbury University, entering my 4th year. In this awesome discipline we discuss questions like should we have states, and how can we stop the spread of nukes. Epic. I love it. I would describe myself as a friendly introvert. I love art, music, tramping, converting people to vegetarianism and discussion the bible and politics.

I am extremely excited and thankful for this opertunity to spend the summer in Uganda. I hope to be challenged, broadened and changed, and also helpful! MASSIVE thanks to my amazing friends, church family and family family for love and support :)
