Tea and Tots with Tunes

10:00am-12:00pm, every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month

We meet throughout the school year, except on public holidays, at St Timothy’s.

A friendly, fun and welcoming place, Tea and Tots is open to all pre-school children , from new babies to school age, and their carers – parents , grandparents, uncles, aunts or, as the name suggests – whoever is responsible for their care!

Come and enjoy a cuppa and a chat in a relaxing environment.

We began running our playgroup and coffee morning in April 2002, and with funding from Community Council grants were able to purchase a wide variety of play equipment and early learning puzzles.

There are a variety of ride on cars and bikes for inside or outside play, a big plastic slide, a roller coaster, a large sandpit with sun umbrellas, and a range of big toys for the sandpit too. Inside we have a kitchen with lots of equipment, play floor with a farm and airport, lots of puzzles and art to try, music to sing and dance to, and special toys for the babies and crawler ages too.

Safe and sound

We offer a friendly and safe environment for the children to play while people can meet and develop closer friendships over a fresh brewed cup of fair trade tea or coffee. A choice of crackers and home baked biscuits are available from one of our church members every week too.

Refreshments are available right from the start, so there’s no waiting until 11.00am or 11.30am for your cuppa!

All volunteers undergo a police child safety check before being allowed to help. We have a safety policy in place regarding the buildings and outside environment.

The personal care of the children is always the responsibility of their carer, although the volunteers will always keep an eye on the children in the different play areas so they are not alone, and caregivers can relax a bit!

With support from the church of St Tim’s we continue to offer this as a completely free morning of fun to the families who come.
